Hi, I'm Carolina Pimenta, RN, IBCLC

I'm a trilingual Registered Nurse (RN), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), mother, and founder of Raiz Materna Lactation.

For more than 16 years, I have specialized in maternal-child health, supporting mothers, babies, and families across a variety of settings, including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, NICU, outpatient lactation clinics, community health programs, and private practice.

Throughout my career, I have worked at nationally recognized institutions, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, and Mercy Medical Center, and have had the privilege of supporting more than 10,000 parent-infant dyads through their feeding journeys.

My passion for lactation began early in my nursing career when I taught a breastfeeding class during a clinical rotation. What started as a professional interest quickly became a lifelong calling. As a mother who breastfed my own children for more than six years, I understand both the beauty and the challenges that can come with feeding a baby.
